In the heart of San Isidro, on Miguel Dasso Street, lies a charming restaurant renowned for its exceptional coffee and delectable sweets. A young pastry chef from Cajamarca, the northern sierra of Peru, Richard Venegas, has graced the establishment to showcase this exquisite display.
By the right side of the entrance, accompanied by high chairs, the curation commences with classic Profiteroles, the hype bombolinnis, creative cocobuns, and seasonal regional specialties. This intimate corner offers an unparalleled sweet experience.
The second commission was placed at a location in Surquillo, known locally as “huarique,” where grilled oysters are served over charcoal cylinder on the street. This establishment offers luxury for anyone, attracting foodies who eagerly queue for the five seats it can accommodate.
ostras a la brasa
The specialty oysters are grilled, gratin, braised, or cooked in ceviche in its citrus sauce. Additionally, the classic black scallops ceviche, originating from Tumbes, Peru, where a mangle naturally divides our frontier with Ecuador, is offered. Highly recommended to sample both options.
cheese corner
The final commission was a delightful encounter with the new store of Cheesecorner in the suburbs of La Molina. This delicatessen grocery market boasts an exceptional selection of aged European cheeses and meticulously curated plates like Joselito’s patanegra.
Throughout these culinary adventures, the curation was handled by my esteemed Venezuelan friend, Genesis Pinto. We indulged in delectable treats such as Tete de Moine Swiss cheese, freshly cut, and the delectable salty cheddar from Dorset, England. Go over and seek out for Genesis.
